Celebrating all Health Professions engaging in the MBChB
We organise Multi-Disciplinary Networking Events within the region.
The next event: Tuesday 4th April 2017 (14:00 16:30)
Venue: Rm 9.58b, Level 9 Worsley Building (Medical School) University of Leeds
The event is for staff involved in the education of medical students during the placement learning (all disciplines welcome).
Through short presentations and workshop activity, the focus will be on innovations in placement learning and providing student feedback during placements.
Allied health professional, nursing and midwifery, pharmacy and social work staff contribute significantly to medical student education in a variety of ways. These include delivering teaching to students and providing informal learning opportunities by inviting students to observe them in their role in clinics, with patients and service users, on ward rounds, at case conferences and in MDT meetings. These opportunities are regularly cited by medical students in placement feedback as some of the best aspects of placement learning and contribute significantly to our students developing clinical knowledge and understandings about the role of the doctor and the wider MDT.
