Medical Teaching Facilities

Whilst most of the clinical teaching for students takes place off-campus in NHS settings such as Teaching and District hospitals, Primary Care practice and the community, the School also has two centres which are used for classroom teaching. The Medical Teaching Centre in the School of Medicine manages the lecture and seminar rooms used for medical teaching and have a high quality photography and video studio.

The Leeds Clinical Practice Centre is located in St James University Hospital and is a joint venture with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. The Centre is well equipped with teaching wards and simulation equipment which is used by undergraduate and postgraduate students to practice clinical techniques in a simulated environment.

Clinical skills facilities are also available to Leeds students at Pinderfields, Dewsbury, Calderdale, Huddersfield, Harrogate, Bradford and Airedale hospitals.
