Summary: Russell Hutter researches social cognition, including: social category conjunction, stereotyping, aging, and executive functions. He also researches message framing and product branding.

Russell graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 1999. He followed this with an MSc in Psychological Research Methods in 2000 and a Research Assistantship in 2001 with Professor Tim Perfect. He then undertook a PhD at the University of Birmingham under the supervision of Dr. Richard Crisp and graduated in 2005. In 2005 Russell was also awarded an ESRC one year postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Professor Glyn Humphreys. In December 2005 Russell was appointed a fixed term lectureship at the University of Reading before joining the School of Psychology at Leeds as a Lecturer in May 2007 and more recently became Associate Professor in Social Psychology.
