Summary: I am a Lecturer in Adult Nursing and I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students. My main research interest is in wound care/pressure ulcer, PPI and translation of research into practice.

My first degree was in Biochemistry and Cell Molecular Biology. I have an MSc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biology. My PhD and subsequent postdoctoral projects were in plant biochemistry/molecular biology. I am also a registered nurse (Adult Nursing) with a PgDip. and MMedSci. in Health Care. My clinical background is in acute surgery and tissue viability (wound care/pressure ulcer).
I currently work as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the School of Healthcare. I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School (nursing and other healthcare courses). I am involved in classroom based teaching as well as clinical skills sessions (Basic Life Support and Moving and Handling amongst others).
My main research interest is in wound care/pressure ulcer. I am also interested in areas such as nutrition, ethics, pain, patient-public involvement/engagement and the translation of research into practice in relation to wound care.
