Pioneering unit marks three decades of research in elderly care and rehabilitation
Since the Academic Unit of Elderly Care and Rehabilitation was founded on the same site as Bradford Royal Infirmary, it has grown to become an international leader in healthcare innovation attracting more than £13 million in grants. The Unit has an established record of addressing key, clinically relevant questions in elderly care and stroke. A programme of multidisciplinary health services research has been developed, facilitated by a strong and supportive network of local and national colleague researchers, NHS clinical staff, patients and their families. The research has used a mixed-methods approach, incorporating qualitative, quantitative and health economic evaluations.
