It is our pleasure to announce the promotion of Christopher Gale to Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine with the School of Medicine (Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine).
Chris graduated at the London Hospital Medical College (now Barts and The London School of Medicine) and undertook a PhD at the University of Leeds funded as a MRC Clinical Training Fellow. His post-doctoral training was supported through a NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship followed by a NIHR Clinician Scientist fellowship. Funded by major support from the NIHR and BHF, his research expertise focusses on the use of population-based big data in observational and randomised format to investigate cardiovascular care and outcomes.
He has published over 100 peer review scientific manuscripts in journals including JAMA, Lancet and the BMJ. Chris will fully utilise the opportunities afforded through the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics to drive forward his ambitious research plans that will further improve outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease.
I am sure you will join us in congratulating Chris on his Professorship.
