Research in Leeds Institute of Cancer and Pathology (LICAP) is divided into nine sections, each with a focus on different aspects of cancer research and pathology. With scientists and clinicians work closely together, the Institute brings together researchers from University of Leeds faculties with clinical staff at the Bexley Wing, Institute of Oncology, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust at St. James’s University Hospital.

Our Institute is also closely aligned with the Leeds Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC). ECMC is supported by the Department of Health and Cancer Research UK and predominantly focuses on first-in-man and proof-of-principle early clinical trials of small molecules and biotherapies, and in developing prognostic and predictive cancer biomarkers.
