Continuing Professional Development
Leeds Institute of Health Sciences offers a broad range of courses and workshops for researchers and healthcare professionals which are integrated with, and informed by, our research and methodological expertise. Many of our short courses are drawn from our broad range of postgraduate modules and will be of interest to staff working in both the public and private sector.

- Short courses for public health professionals run by the Division of Primary Care, Public Health & Palliative Care.
- A Continuing Professional Development Programme for Medical Teachers designed and delivered by the Division of Primary Care, Public Health & Palliative Care and Leeds Institute of Medical Education at the School of Medicine, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and Bradford Primary Care Teaching PCT.
- A range of Continuing Professional Development Courses run by the Family Therapy group in the Division of Psychological & Social Medicine
- A range of professional development courses designed for health informatics professionals in the NHS or industry and clinical professionals run by the Health Informatics group in the Division of Health Services Research.
The Division of Health Economics hold regular seminars covering a wide range of diverse topics as smoking cessation and childhood obesity.
Customised short courses are run by the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development for groups of health professionals from low to middle income countries. Training is tailored to the specific needs of a of organisations including ministries of health, provincial/regional health authorities, hospitals, donor organisations or NGOs. The courses are held in country, or in Leeds, or a combination of both.
