The Postgraduate Diploma in Physician Associate Studies prepares health scientists and health and science graduates for a career as a Physician Associate. The programme equips individuals to support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients by training them to perform a number of roles under the defined supervision of a doctor.
Who is the programme for?
The postgraduate diploma in Physician Associate Studies is aimed at students who have prior experience in health sciences or the health sector and who wish to undertake a clinical career in medicine in the UK. As well as academic achievement, applicants for the Physician Associate Studies programme will need to be able to demonstrate an interest in working with the public and as a member of a team, an interest in health or social care, values to deliver the best possible care for patients and excellent communication skills. The diploma focuses on general adult medicine in hospital and general practice, rather than specialty care and enables you to practice in many different clinical settings as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams in the UK.
