About ENGAGE

Student experiment

We recognise how important it is to ensure that health practitioners and those working professionally in the field of physical and psychological health can engage effectively, appropriately and with confidence with patients, carers, families and the general public. In the Faculty of Medicine and Health, our students learn this through their placements, as they interact with those participating in research (Institute of Psychological Sciences), clinical trials (CTRU, DentCRU), the curriculum (Patient Carer Community) and practical learning (Leeds School of Dentistry – community clinics). Involvement with our public and voluntary sector partners is integral to our learning and teaching and allows students to gain first-hand experience of the environments they will work in upon completion of their studies.

Our experts, students and alumni apply their insight, creativity and originality to today’s major intellectual, scientific, and medical/health challenges to deliver solutions of real social relevance and impact.
