Dental technology is both a science and an art. Dental technicians design and craft a wide range of prosthetics and orthodontic appliances according to each patient’s needs. Working to a dentist’s prescription, you will use a variety of materials to create appliances to improve a patient’s appearance, speech and ability to chew.

Many technicians acquire skill in the use of sophisticated instruments and equipment while performing laboratory procedures. It is important for the patient that the technician helps create tooth replacements that are attractive and functional.

As a dental technician, you may rarely see the patient, however, the appliances and devices that you make will have a huge impact on a patient’s life.
