Healthcare education and research are undertaken in partnership with providers of health and social care.
These relationships ensure that students are able to learn in a real environment, gaining skills and confidence for their chosen career. Our students are part of the health and social care community right from the start. These strongly-established links also facilitate collaborative research developments.
Our major partners within Leeds are the Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, the Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust, and NHS Leeds. However we also work with many other private and voluntary services, from large private hospitals such as BUPA and Nuffield, through to smaller care homes, schools and prisons.
Whilst the majority of nursing students remain in the city, midwifery, radiography, cardiology and audiology placements can be regional or national. Much of our research is undertaken with local partners, but we also have ongoing national and international projects. WE have our own practice placement site to manage the placement of our students
