Leeds Integrated Clinical Academic Training Programme

We run a thriving Clinical Academic Training Programme enabling medical and dental trainees to undertake research in conjunction with their clinical training. Funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), and in partnership with Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber, the Leeds Integrated Clinical Academic Training programme is managed by Professor Phil Quirke, the Academic Training Programme Director (ATPD).

Administration of the programme, including the ACF research training bursary and the ACF/CL travel bursary is undertaken by the Leeds NIHR ICAT programme manager, Jo Bentley, with the support of Karen Lawson. Please contact us if you have any queries concerning the programme or would like to learn more about the programme.

As an introduction to clinical academic training at Leeds please view the video featuring some of our clinical academic trainees and staff; you can also meet Dr Nick West one of our clinical academic trainees. For more information about a career within the NIHR Integrated Academic Training pathway see the guide and the Principles and Obligations Report.
