Adventures in virtual-reality based rehabilitation: From theory to practice Seminar

On Thursday 24th May we are pleased to welcome Professor Peter Wilson from the Australian Catholic University for our external seminar series.

In this external seminar, Peter will be exploring the nexus between basic research on motor control and learning, and the design of new motor rehabilitation tools using virtual reality.

Background

Peter's primary research interests are in motor and cognitive development in children, with particular expertise on neurodevelopmental disorders of movement (like DCD and CP) and in new approaches to rehabilitation, including the use of virtual reality. The latter also concerns rehabilitation of movement and cognition in children and adults with brain injury. Peter is Co-Director at CeDDR, overseeing work dedicated to benefiting children with developmental impairments and chronic health conditions, and their families, through high impact research that influences practice and policy.
